LYRICS

Arise and Shine Like a Light Upon a Hill

Even one light can shine in the darkness,
Giving us hope as it shows us the way.
Grateful we sing of the Saints gone before us
Who planted the seeds that we harvest today.

Brought from all lands by the hand of the Father,
Gathered as youth, we will hold to the rod.
Trusting the plan that was laid out before us,
Valiant we stand in the armour of God.

Arise and shine like a light upon a hill,
Stand for truth, firmly rooted, sure and still.
Let faith hold fast to make hearts pure and lead the way
Like a beacon in the night until the bright of day.

Raising our eyes to the spires of the Temple,
Heavenly power upon us is poured.
Flowing through us, it will lift ev’ry nation,
sharing the light of the House of the Lord.

Arise and shine like a light upon a hill,
Stand for truth, firmly rooted, sure and still.
Let faith hold fast to make hearts pure and lead the way
Like a beacon in the night until the bright of day.

Pressing forward with faith
and the love of our Saviour,
Lifting the burdens that we see,
As we walk in the light of the love of the Lord,
He will shine through you and me!

We will arise and shine like a light upon a hill,
Stand for truth, firmly rooted, sure and still.
Let faith hold fast to make hearts pure and lead the way
Like a beacon in the night until the bright of day.

For God remembers still His promise made of old
That he on Zion’s hill Truth’s standard would unfold!
Her light should there attract the gaze
Of all the world in latter days.

A light upon a hill!

FARMER AND THE COWMAN – Rogers & Hammerstein

Aunt Eller & Will:
Oh, the farmer and the cowman should be friends,
Oh, the farmer and the cowman should be friends.
One man likes to push a plough,
The other likes to chase a cow,
But that's no reason why they cain't be friends.

All:
Territory folks should stick together,
Territory folks should all be pals.
Cowboys dance with farmer's daughters,
Farmers dance with the ranchers' gals.

Farmer:
I'd like to say a word fer the farmer

Eller:
Well, say it!

Farmer:
He come out west and made a lot of changes

Woman:
That's right!

Will:
He come out west and built a lot of fences,

Curly:
And built 'em right across our cattle ranges.

All:
Oh, the farmer and the cowman should be friends,
Oh, the farmer and the cowman should be friends.
The cowman ropes a cow with ease,
The farmer steals her butter and cheese,
That's no reason why they cain't be friends

Territory folks should stick together,
Territory folks should all be pals.
Cowboys dance with farmer's daughters,
Farmers dance with the ranchers' gals.

Old Joe Clark

Round and around, Old Joe Clark,
Round and around I say.
Round and around, Old Joe Clark,
Round and around I play.
Round and around, Old Joe Clark,
Round and around I say.
He'd follow me then thousand miles,
To hear my Fiddle play, Yah!

Good Old Hockey Game

Hello out there, we’re on the air
it’s hockey night tonight!
The tension grows, the whistle blows,
and the puck goes down the ice.
The goalie jumps, and the players bump,
and the fans all go insane.
Someone roars: “Bobby Scores!”
At the good old hockey game!

(chorus)
Oh! The good old hockey game!
Its the best game you can name!
And the best game you can name,
is the good old hockey game!

Second Period.
Where players dash, with skates aflash,
the home team trails behind.
But they grab the puck, and go bursting up,
and their down across the line.
They storm the crease, like bumblebees,
and they travel like a burning flame.
We see them slide the puck inside,
its a one one hockey game!

(chorus)
Oh! The good old hockey game!
Its the best game you can name!
And the best game you can name,
is the good old hockey game!

Third Period.
Last game in the playoffs too.
Oh take me where the hockey players
face off down the rink,
And the Stanley Cup, is all filled up,
for the champs who win the drink!
Now the final flick, of a hockey stick,
and a one gigantic scream:
“THE PUCK IS IN! THE HOME TEAM WINS!”
At the good old hockey game.

(chorus repeats twice)
Oh! The good old hockey game!
Its the best game you can name!
And the best game you can name,
is the good old hockey game!

The Light of the Temple

I love to see the Temple,
I’m going there some day
To feel the Holy Spirit
to listen and to pray.
For the Temple is a house of God,
a place of love and beauty.
I’ll prepare myself while I am young,
This is my sacred duty.

Teach me to walk in the light of his love.
Teach me to pray to my father above.
Teach me to know of the things that are right.
Teach me, teach me, to walk in the light.

Teach me all that I must do
to walk in the light.

A Light on a Hill

A light on a hill,
Someday a light on a hill.
We come to farm, to raise cattle work hard,
with our strength and our will.

Grow fam’lies that know
They are children of God.
Give thanks to the Prophet, for peace and have
hope for the light on the hill.

Brought here to grow,
we were brought here to learn.
We are people of faith, who were born in this time
and now it’s our turn.

We are people of God,
who follow the Lord.
Give praise for the fam’lies who’ve gone on before!
to prepare for the light on the hill.
